2026 - A New Year & New Beginnings for Hilbilby
We are Excited About 2026!!!
After years of renting, we are so pumped to have our own place again š
It means dirt under the nails, food grown where we live, and the freedom to experiment. That feels like a BiG win to us.
Reconnecting with a backyard has been grounding in the best possible way. It slows us down, sharpens your attention, and rewards efforts in kind. We have only just begun, but already the satisfaction has been real.
We are aiming for a summer abundance we can share with friends and family, and we are off to a cracking start.
Right now the patch is producing cherry toms, roma toms, heirloom toms, bath bombs ... zuchs, cucs, chillies, caps, peas, beans, lettuce and purple asparagus [beast read to the tune of I've Been Everywhere Man].
There is something super satisfying about walking outside, picking dinner, and knowing exactly where it came from. No labels. No food miles. No guesswork. Just fresh organic food, grown with care, eaten with gratitude.
2026 is shaping up to be a year of getting our hands dirty, sharing more, wasting less, and leaning into the simple joy of a #homefree life.Ā
We knocked up a chook palace and bought 4 Isa Brown pullets in November. One of these clucky girls has just started laying too šš¼.

With our son Lloyd 'bee'ing in to bees, we thought we might as well have a crack at them as well. More stings than honey to date however I'm buzzing with excitement š.

Stay tuned for updates throughout the year and be sure to follow us on IG and FB.
